Stefan's Portfolio
It's password protected--but just contact me for the secret handshake. It offers a glimpse of my approach to planning and managing user experience design, shows examples of projects I've worked on in the last few years
and has some notes on what I hope to work on next."Good design," as Edward Tufte says, "is clear thinking made visible," but there's more to usefulness and viability than what meets the eye. That's why I research and write reports that try to separate cultural trends from fads, and try to combine a cultural point of view with an understanding of emerging technology trends and laws. And maybe, just maybe, this will help to guide our thinking about how we can design today's user experiences more thoughtfully.
The examples in this portfolio are mainly consumer-facing Web applications and desktop applications, but I've also worked on enterprise Web apps, including a humongous one which AT&T (formerly SBC) just launched x. It enables enterprise customers to design, configure, and purchase large-scale networks (think skyscraper-sized) via a Web-based interface. This application supports hundreds of use cases, and was completed early, that's right: early!
Once in a while I work on Flash-based demos, simulations, and short-form rhetorical narratives (a/k/a "interactive advertisements").
